The first Club Health network (CHN) meeting took place on 15th and 16th of December 2009 in Ljubljana (Slovenia). About 30 partners of the Club Health project met for the first time since the project started in April 2009 and discussed different nightlife-related topics and tasks in the project. Several Slovenian experts and professionals were contributing in round-table discussions as well. More information about the meeting will be published soon.
The CHN comprises all the European associated and collaborating partners and representatives of other relevant European Commission co-financed projects. The CHN is primarily responsible for networking with the European networks, who will meet at the time of the three network meetings. The main responsibility is to ensure that the project partners and relevant networks are actively involved in giving their advice and comments to the project and actively involved in disseminating and using the deliverables of the project throughout their own networks.
Workshops were organised as a part of the CHN meeting with the purpose of discussing the protocols and working plans regarding products of the project (study/database, standards, city criteria and training concept). The aim of the workshops is to provide an internal discussion about draft products of the project with project partners. Conclusions of the workshops were discussed within the CHN.
Round-table discussions on transversal issues were organised for thematic discussion on different topics: substance use (alcohol and illicit drugs), risk sexuality, violence and security, nightlife "ecology" (smoking-free nightlife, noise pollution, lightning and eyesight damages) and media and advertising.
